RAWALPINDI:
Security forces killed 10 terrorists in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Dera Ismail Khan district, while an army officer embraced martyrdom while leading troops from the front, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Thursday.
“On March 20, security forces conducted an intelligence based operation in Dera Ismail Khan district on the reported presence of Khwarij,” the ISPR said in a press release, while referring to the terrorists belonging to the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
“During the conduct of operation, own troops, after stealthily surrounding the khwarij location, effectively engaged them and resultantly all ten khwarij were sent to hell,” the ISPR, the media wing of the military, stated.
“However, during the intense fire exchange, Captain Hasnain Akhtar (age: 24 years, resident of Jhelum district), who was leading his troops from the front, having fought gallantly, paid the ultimate sacrifice and embraced Shahadat,” it added.
The ISPR said that Shaheed Captain Husnain was a brave officer, renowned for his courage and bold and daring actions during previous operations.
“During the operation, weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the killed khwarij, who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities against the Law Enforcement Agencies as well as target killing of innocent civilians,” the press release said.
A sanitisation operation was being conducted to eliminate any other terrorist found in the area, the ISPR said, adding that the security forces of Pakistan were determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country and “such sacrifices of our brave young officers further strengthen our resolve”.
