Cary, North Carolina – USA Baseball today finalized the 2024 18U National Team schedule, highlighted by the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) U-18 Baseball World Cup Americas Qualifier, to be held August 2-11 in Panama City, Panama.
The USA will be looking to defend their sixth consecutive gold medal at the tournament after going 8-0 in the WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup Americas Qualifier held in Los Cabos and La Paz, Mexico, in 2022.
Leading up to the qualifiers, the Under-18 National Team Training Camp will be held from July 17-21 at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, North Carolina. The training camp will feature 80 players and will include on-field workouts, intrasquad matches and more, with the final Under-18 National Team roster being announced on July 21.
The final 20-man roster will reconvene for three days of Under-18 National Team training at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary from July 28-30. Following training, Team USA will travel to Panama from August 2-11 to compete in the WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup Americas Qualifier.
Since its inception in 1987, the Under-18 National Team program has won 10 World Championships and 16 Gold Medals. The USA boasted an undefeated record in the 2022 WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup Americas Qualifier, defeating Panama in the final to win the Gold Medal. The Under-18 National Team has a 49-1 record in the past six qualifiers.
