MUMBAI: The Congress party has made headlines after Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who claims to have strong ties with Muslims, once again displayed hatred for Muslims in a speech.
“Mr. Modi keeps making unsubstantiated claims against the Congress party’s campaign. Even though the Congress manifesto clearly says nothing about wealth distribution to Muslims, Narendra “Modi is spreading this false propaganda time and time again,” said Nana Patole, president of the Maharashtra Congress.
“Mr. Modi’s claims against Congress on the reservation issue are also completely false. It is clear that RSS and BJP are against reservations, but Congress is against SCs, STs and OBCs, so reservations are taken away. The claim that it will be given to Muslims is also baseless. People in important positions like the Prime Minister are expected to maintain a certain level of speech, but Mr. Modi is not taught by the RSS. “It seems like you can’t say anything different from that, which is spreading lies,” he said.
Patole said Prime Minister Modi’s Bharatiya Janata Party, which has accused the Congress of appeasing Muslims, has formed an alliance with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s Telugu Desam party. “How is PM Modi okay with Telugu Desam promising Rs 100,000 for Hajj?” asked Patole.
