The Midsummer Classic is less than 10 days away, on July 16. MLB players and their families will soon be gathering at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, for the All-Star Game, celebrating baseball’s best and brightest.
But who will those players be? MLB has been teasing them for the past week, but the wait is finally over. The full rosters were released on Sunday, with 32 first-time selections making up half of them. The Philadelphia Phillies led the way with seven selections, followed by the Los Angeles Dodgers with six.
Here’s a quick recap of how these teams were selected: Each team’s 32-man roster was created through a combination of fan votes, player votes, and Commissioner’s Office selections. Fan votes determined the nine starters (eight position players and the designated hitter) for the American League and National League. Seventeen spots were determined by votes from the players themselves. The final six spots on each team were then filled by the Commissioner’s Office, ensuring that all 30 teams had at least one representative.
