In a report submitted to the House of Representatives and a congressional committee, the CIA confirmed that Russia interfered in the 2016 US presidential election to support Republican candidate Donald Trump. Eight years later, concerns of interference by foreign powers have emerged. US intelligence agencies have confirmed that foreign adversaries are scanning election infrastructure ahead of the November 5 election, raising concerns that adversaries are probing vulnerabilities in US defenses and could once again threaten the 2024 US presidential election.

“The U.S. voting system is under threat.”

According to The Washington Times, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence warned on Monday that the U.S. voting system is under threat. With just 100 days until Election Day, election officials and government officials are reeling from the specter of who might exploit the political process for their own gain. Top intelligence officials are gearing up to be on the lookout for foreign threats.
