This weekend’s USA Today 301 sees the NASCAR Cup Series head to New Hampshire Motor Speedway and the “Magic Mile” short track.
Martin Truex Jr. is the defending champion and has led his Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota team to nine wins at the track, the most in Cup team history.

Ford has also performed well at the one-mile Loudon circuit, where it is the winningest manufacturer with 12 victories, including lifting the giant lobster in four of the last six races.
In the past 17 New Hampshire Cup starts, Chevrolet has reached victory lane just once.
This is another Longshot track.
That’s right, in the 52 Cup races run there, 10 winners (19.2%) have started outside the top 20. That gives the one-mile tracks in New England and Charlotte Motor Speedway the third-most winners outside the top 20, trailing only Daytona (14) and Richmond Raceway (13).

Oh, and six of New Hampshire’s last 11 winners have started outside the top ten.

Bell, driver of the No. 20 Toyota, is one of three Joe Gibbs Racing drivers atop the odds board to win New Hampshire, the others being Truex (+500) and Denny Hamlin (+600). (Hamlin is tied with Kyle Busch for the most NHMS wins by an active Cup driver with three.)
Bell has raced four times at the one-mile track with one win and one runner-up finish.
He also took pole position in last year’s race.
Logano, who drives for the Penske Ford team, has won in New Hampshire twice in his career, his last victory coming 10 years ago.
But since his last win at the one-mile track, Logano has six top-five finishes in 12 races, including a second-place finish last year.
Chastain, driver of the No. 1 Trackhouse Racing Team Chevrolet, is 10th in Cup points this season.
He has yet to win in 2024, but has six top 10 finishes, including two top fives.
Chastain has two top-10 finishes in five races at New Hampshire, and two of his four Cup wins have come on tracks one to two miles long.
