Four-star linebacker Ty Jackson announced his top 10 schools in March, but this week he received an offer from the USC Trojans as part of a new recruiting push.
The 6-foot-1, 205-pound linebacker is a product of Seminole Ridge High School in Loxahatchee, Fla. Jackson’s top schools are Syracuse University, Texas A&M University, Florida State University, Penn State University, Miami University, University of Alabama, University of Tennessee, University of Georgia, University of Oklahoma and University of Florida.
Jackson is the No. 16 overall prospect and No. 1 linebacker in the class of 2025. He is ranked as the No. 2 player in the state of Florida, according to On3.
Over the past three seasons, Jackson has been dominant with 378 total tackles, 15 tackles for loss, six sacks, five forced fumbles and four interceptions. Jackson also caught 15 passes for 257 yards and five touchdowns as the tight end on offense.
Jackson was also named to the 247Sports All-Combine Team at the national combine earlier this year, where he recorded the second-fastest short shuttle and second-fastest long jump at the meet.
There are currently no strong contenders to acquire the 6-foot-1, 210-pound linebacker, with Florida State and Georgia being the most active so far. We’ll see if the Trojans can make a move on Jackson’s top list when he is expected to decide, or at least narrow down, his college destination once again this fall.
