QUETTA:

Four men were found shot dead in the Gulangoor area of Noshki district in Balochistan on Tuesday, according to officials from the Levies Force.

Initial reports indicate that unknown gunmen opened fire on the victims, killing them instantly. The bodies were transported to the Teaching Hospital in Noshki for medico-legal procedures.

Medical staff later confirmed the identities of the deceased, all of whom were residents of Punjab.

Two of the men were from Pakpattan – Moeen, son of Ghulam Mustafa, and Huzaifa, son of Muhammad Latif. The remaining two, identified as Imran Ali and Irfan Ali, both sons of Maqsood Ahmed, were from Rahim Yar Khan.

A formal investigation has been initiated by the Levies Force, though the motive behind the attack remains unclear.

Authorities are working to determine whether the victims were specifically targeted or fell victim to broader violence in the region.

The incident has drawn widespread condemnation and renewed concerns over security in Balochistan, where incidents of targeted violence have seen a worrying rise in recent months.

Government spokesperson Shahid Rind strongly denounced the killings, offering heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families.

He assured the public that the state is committed to safeguarding the lives and property of its citizens and that those responsible for this act of terrorism would be brought to justice.

He stressed that the government would not tolerate attacks on innocent labourers and vowed firm action against the perpetrators.
