42 USHL players selected for 2024 World Junior Hockey Summer Showcase
USA Hockey has announced the rosters for the 2024 World Junior Summer Showcase, which will be held July 26-Aug. 3 in Plymouth, Michigan.
The showcase is intended to identify the players that will make up the U.S. team that will compete in the IIHF World Junior Championship, to be held from Dec. 26, 2024 to Jan. 5, 2025 in Ottawa, Ontario.
Other teams participating in the World Junior Hockey Summer Showcase include Canada, Finland and Sweden.
Sixteen players who played for club teams in the USA Hockey League this season have been announced to participate in this summer’s camp, in addition to 11 invitees from the USA Hockey National Team Development Program who played in the USHL in 2023-24. Carsen Musser (Madison) Hampton Sluchinski (Fargo), Adam Clever (Lincoln) Tori Pitner (Youngstown), Colin Ralph (Dubuque), Andrew Strassman (Youngstown), Austin Barnevik (Madison) Trevor Connelly (Tri-City), Jake Fisher (Fargo), Beckett Hendrickson (Dubuque), Chris Pelosi (Sioux Falls) Noah Powell (Dubuque), James Reeder (Dubuque), Jason Shaugavey (Green Bay), Brandon Svoboda (Fargo) and Mack Swanson (Fargo) Fifteen players who previously played in the USHL will also be participating in camp, bringing the league’s total number of players to 42.
David CarlThe head coach at the University of Denver and former assistant coach with the USHL’s Green Bay Gamblers is serving as head coach of Team USA for the second consecutive year. Other members of the staff include assistant coaches. Brett Larson St. Cloud State UniversityHe spent two seasons (2011-13) as head coach and general manager of the Sioux City Musketeers. Steve MillerHe played for the Madison Capitols in the 1984-85 season before having a long career as an assistant coach in college. Garrett RaboinHe played for the Lincoln Stars (2003-06) and is currently the head coach and goalkeeping coach at Augustana University. David Lassonde From NTDP.
