- Linkages between SDG 2 and other SDGs – Zero Hunger
The theme is “Strengthening the 2030 Agenda and Eradicating Poverty in Times of Multiple Crises: Effectively Delivering Sustainable, Resilient and Innovative Solutions” (A/DEC/77/553).
Without compromising the integral, indivisible and interrelated nature of the Sustainable Development Goals, the 2024 HLPF will give detailed consideration to:
- Goal 1. End poverty in all its forms everywhere
- Goal 2. End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture
- Goal 13. Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts
- Goal 16. Promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, provide access to justice for all and build effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels
- Goal 17. Strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development.
The July 2024 HLPF will be the first HLPF to be held under the auspices of ECOSOC after the 2023 SDG Summit, the next HLPF to be held under the auspices of the General Assembly in September 2023. The 2024 HLPF will support the implementation of the Political Declaration and other outcomes of the SDG Summit to advance the 2030 Agenda and the SDGs.
The following countries have expressed interest in conducting Voluntary National Reviews (VNRs) of the implementation of the 2030 Agenda at the HLPF in 2024: Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belize, Brazil, Chad, Colombia, Republic of the Congo, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Georgia, Guinea, Honduras, Kenya, Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Libya, Mauritania, Mauritius, Mexico, Namibia, Nepal, Oman, Palau, Peru, Samoa, Sierra Leone, Solomon Islands, South Africa, South Sudan, Spain, Syrian Arab Republic, Uganda, Vanuatu, Yemen, Zimbabwe.
