vijayawada: The uproar over social security pension payments and public opinion poll promises on pensions will have a major impact on the upcoming general elections in Andhra Pradesh.

Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, as YSRC chairman, promised to increase the pension for employees from the current Rs 3,000 per month to Rs 3,500 per month. Telugu Desam Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has promised to increase it to Rs 4,000 per month. There are a total of 6,549,864 Social Security pensioners in AP’s 26 electoral districts, making them crucial to the election.

TD leaders also promised doorstep delivery of pensions and said they hoped the proposal to increase the pension to Rs 4,000 would garner support for the party among the beneficiaries.

YSRC said that with the perfect distribution of pensions for the past 58 months and the promise of increase to Rs 3,500 crore, the beneficiaries have confidence in Jagan Reddy and thus has the support of majority, if not all, of the beneficiaries. It is claimed that it is. Beneficiary.

Srikakulam district had the highest number of pensioners at 320,913, followed by Nellore at 315,426, Prakasam at 292,525, Anantapur at 288,350, Vijnagaram at 282,903, Palnadu at 281,240 and Kakinada at 280,670. , 2,72,867 in Chittoor, 2,72,104 in Sathya Sai, 2,70,394 in Tirupati, 2,69,888 in Eluru, 2,67,495 in Kadapa, 2,65,210 in Anakapalli and 2,59,997 in Guntur. 2,46,348 people in Kurnool, 2,44,777 people in Konaseema, 2,43,084 people in East Godavari, 2,43,408 people in Krishna, 2,36,726 people in NTR district, 2,34,161 people in West Godavari, 2,34,172 people in Bapatla, 2 people in Nandyal. ,22,405, Annamaya 2,24,504, Visakhapatnam 1,64,910, Manyam 1,45,071 and ASR district 1,27,435.

In addition to these, there were another 42,881 ART (PLHIV) pensioners in AP.

Jagan Mohan Reddy announced that the social security pension will be increased from the current Rs 3,000 to Rs 3,500 from 2028. There will be an initial hike of Rs 250, followed by a further hike of Rs 250 in 2029.

Meanwhile, Chandrababu Naidu promised to increase the pension amount to Rs 4,000 immediately after assuming power.

Political analysts say 65.5 million pensioners have been accustomed to receiving their pensions at home for the past 58 months, but had a bitter experience in April and May.

That is why the majority of pensioners are against TD and its allies, who want to end the voluntary system and the door-to-door delivery of their pensions. Pensioners trust Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy to increase their pensions.

G. Subba Rao, a pensioner, said, “Due to the ban on volunteering, we have faced a hellish situation for the past two months. In order to receive a pension of Rs 3,000, we have to pay for transportation. We had to pay between 300 and 500 rupees for food. We and our families are angry at TD and its allies who have brought us hardship. We have a perfect pension. I am supporting Jagan Mohan Reddy in this election.

– There are a total of 6,549,864 social security pensioners in 26 districts of Andhra Pradesh.

– The highest number of pensioners is in Srikakulam district with 3,20,913 people and the lowest with 1,27,435 people in ASR district.

– Perfect distribution of pension and further stable increase to Rs 3,500 crore in the last 58 months are positive points for YSRC.

– TD is looking forward to the proposal to increase the pension amount to 4,000 rupees and commit to continuing the volunteer system.
