Ballari/Vijaypur: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday accused the Narendra Modi-led Bharatiya Janata Party government of gifting Karnataka an “empty shambu” over the years.
Addressing a rally at the City College Ground in Ballari on Friday, he called the Bharatiya Janata Party, which has cheated the nation by not releasing its share of funds, the ‘Bharatiya Janata Party’. He said how the Bharatiya Janata Party would give ‘chumbhu’ to the state by not releasing the Rs 18,000-crore drought relief fund and tax devolution which would get only Rs 13 for every Rs 100 revenue generated by Karnataka. He said this Lok Sabha election is being fought to protect the constitution and democracy. “There is no power in the world that can repeal the Constitution of India, which gives power, reservations and rights to the poor, Dalits and minorities,” he said, warning that the Bharatiya Janata Party had made the claim “officially” for the first time. Rahul said the Congress and the Union of India will fight against this divisive force to ensure that India’s wealth does not fall into the hands of a few companies. He accused the Modi government of only being interested in enriching the 22 companies. “All the policies there are designed to benefit society. But the Congress-India alliance is making billions of poor, Dalits and minorities Lakhpatis through our guarantee scheme. intend.”
He detailed five national guarantees that the Congress party would implement if it came to power. “Through the Mahalakshmi scheme, we will credit Rs 8,500 per month to every deserving family selected through a thorough scan.”
Rahul accused the Modi government of increasing unemployment in India as well as the coronavirus. To address this, the party will provide all graduates with a monthly stipend of Rs 8,500. “With internships in top companies across the country under the ‘First Job Guarantee’ scheme, we will develop skills and rakpati in every youth,” he said.
“Once we come to power, the Agniveer scheme will be scrapped,” he said.
For farmers, he said the government would fully waive agricultural loans and guarantee legal protection of the minimum support price. He said women would be guaranteed 50% employment in government and public sector jobs.
Addressing a rally in Vijaypur, the former AICC president said that the people of Karnataka will benefit double if his party comes to power in Delhi. “In addition to the Rs 2,000 per month that the Siddaramaiah government is disbursing to women heads of households in the state, the central government will provide an additional Rs 8,500 per month.”
