The forward collided with manager Mo Salah, who was waiting to come on in the second half at the London Stadium. Liverpool drew 2-2 with West Ham, ending their hopes of winning the title. Kara: They’re both legends…no need to take sides!

11:44, UK, Sunday 28 April 2024

“If I talk about it today, there will be a fire,” Mo Salah said after colliding with manager Jurgen Klopp on the touchline during Liverpool’s game against West Ham.

The incident occurred while Salah was waiting to take on at the London Stadium with 11 minutes remaining after being left out of the starting lineup following a much-criticised performance in Wednesday’s Merseyside derby.

Klopp turned to Salah on the touchline after missing West Ham’s chance and the pair exchanged words before Salah was shoved by Joe Gomez and Darwin Nunez.

Salah’s comments came while walking through the mixed zone after the match, declining a request for an interview.

Salah refused to comment after touchline dispute with Klopp

Klopp then refused to reveal what prompted the incident, but added: “We already talked about it in the locker room. For me it’s over.”

“That’s my impression, yes,” Klopp said in a press conference when asked if Salah felt the issue had been resolved.

Wide-angle footage showed Salah approaching the touchline with substitutes Nunez and Gomez, and Klopp reaching out to shake Salah’s hand. The Egyptian player was not immediately forthcoming but shook Klopp’s hand before exchanging words.

Klopp then hugged both Nunez and Gomez, but West Ham missed the chance and Klopp clashed with Salah again, which was clearly caught by the television cameras.

Posted by Jamie Carragher X: “The only reason the coach is unhappy in this situation is because it took too long for the players to be ready to play.”

Speaking before kick-off, Tim Sherwood talks about Liverpool’s fading title hopes and whether they should sell Salah this summer

Liverpool’s latest setbacks have dealt another blow to their sagging title bid. Klopp’s side have won just one of their last five Premier League games.

They are one point behind second-placed Man City, who have two games in hand, and two points behind leaders Arsenal, who have one game in hand.

“To be honest, I’m not in the mood to talk about it or consider it at all,” Klopp said. TNT. “We had to win here. We knew that, but we didn’t. We had a little more time between now and the next game. We’ll try to get the players ready again and we’ll go again. ”

Carragher: Don’t take sides.

Carragher revisited the incident on Sunday morning, writing on X: “Mo Salah and Jurgen Klopp are Liverpool legends. We don’t have to take sides!”

“Salah was frustrated and angry that Jurgen wasn’t playing and didn’t want to fully accept the manager at the time. Jurgen understandably took exception.

“Mo was a bit of a dick with his comments in the mixed zone, but let’s let them understand that and enjoy the next few weeks together. “For everything they’ve achieved at the club, they deserve it. We’ve been a huge help to each other!”

Redknapp: ‘Salah’s time at Liverpool is coming to an end’

Jamie Redknapp believes the Egyptian’s time at Liverpool is coming to an end following a heated spat between Salah and Klopp

Jamie Redknapp of Sky Sports:

“It felt a bit out of character for both parties. Jurgen Klopp doesn’t tend to fall out with his players, but Mohamed Salah is clearly frustrated because he hasn’t started the game and , because there were some choice words between them: “You can’t do that.” Dress up – he wants to play.

“You don’t want to see that, but it happens, and at the moment when Liverpool are giving up points, these things do happen.

“Not much has happened with Salah. He has been an incredible servant to the club. I believe his time is coming to an end. I think his contract will expire in the summer. But I wouldn’t be surprised if he left.

“I think the most important thing is that the sooner this gets swept under the rug, the better because of what he did and what he did, because he’s a legend on that team.”

“He just wants to play, but he doesn’t want to see the manager and the players fall out.”
