Shiv Sena (UBT) spokesperson Sanjay Raut was instrumental in NCP (SP) candidate Supriya Sule’s Saswad rally from Baramati constituency. Raut said the Bharatiya Janata Party was using language that was derogatory towards opposition leaders and political parties.
“They talked about ending Sharad Pawar politically but they were not successful. They tried to finish off Uddhav Thackeray but failed. They also tried a trick on Balaseb Thackeray. But then came Cropper. Raut said the BJP was also talking about ending the Congress. “They said they wanted to form a Congress party, but they stopped forming a Congress party. ” he said.
OPP candidate seeks blessings of Ajit Pawar
Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and Shiv Sena (UBT) candidate Sanjog Wagere from Maval seat met at Pimpri MLA Anna Bansode’s wedding ceremony in Pimpri-Chinchwad on Saturday.
Neither of them turned away. Instead, they both smiled at each other. In fact, Mr. Wagele raised several eyebrows when he touched Mr. Pawar’s feet to seek blessings for his success in the Lok Sabha elections. Mr Wagire is a former mayor of Pimpri-Chinchwad and was with the NCP for many years.
However, on the eve of the Lok Sabha elections, he quit the NCP and joined hands with Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena. “I kept intact the political culture of Maharashtra of fighting elections in a harmonious atmosphere. I had no problem seeking Ajit Pawar’s blessings,” he said.
Shiv Sangram remains neutral
The Shiv Sangram Party, which was aiming to contest from the Beed seat, has decided to remain neutral in this election. ‘
“Sometimes it is important to remain neutral in politics. It is important to take the right decision at the right time. Shiv Sangram Party does not support Maha Vikas Aghadi or Mahayuti. We will hold another meeting for assembly elections and take a decision after that,” said Jyoti Mete of the Shiv Sangram Party.
Jyoti Mete, wife of Shiv Sangram leader late Vinayak Mete, was aiming to contest the Beed seat on the NCP (SP) ticket but was rejected for nomination.
