The CMU Tech Car Show will be held May 4 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

In its 28-year history, the CMU Tech Car Show on May 4 is a highlight event for gearheads, grease monkeys and car enthusiasts alike. Each year, CMU Tech’s campus parking lot is filled with America’s favorite engine-powered machines, and each year, attendees are treated to history and insight into the industry.

The CMU Tech Car Show is run by full-time CMU Tech students and high school students in concurrent programs. Under the guidance of technical instructors Mike Karsten and Paul Hoare, students will liaise with sponsors, design posters, and facilitate coordination on the day. The hard work of the students is evident throughout the show, right down to the award trophies designed and molded by CMU Tech welding students.

This year, CMU Tech is partnering with 18 sponsors to bring food trucks, music and entertainment to campus. Admission to view the car show is free and attendees are welcome anytime from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Trade Center Auto Recyclers, Inc is an annual partner and supports transportation services programs that incorporate sustainability and safe disposal practices into their curriculum. Community members can bring their collectible vintage or custom-built vehicles to CMU Tech, where attendees can admire their craftsmanship and technology. severe The care that is given. The fee to display a vehicle at the show is $20.

Like all educational pathways at CMU Tech, the Transportation Services program prepares students for industry employment while providing a stepping stone to higher levels of education. Hands-on instruction gives students a competitive edge to pass the Automotive Service Excellence certification and land a stable, rewarding, high-paying job.

Students spend the class repairing engines, brakes, suspension, steering, and electrical systems. You will also work on a variety of automatic and alternative fuel vehicles and learn how to improve engine performance. The CMU Tech Car Show is a great opportunity to visually see what their hands-on experience translates into building and maintaining amazing machines like the ones at the show.

Proceeds from the admission fee support scholarships for students in the CMU Tech Transportation Services Program in Automotive and Diesel. CMU Tech’s unwavering commitment to the community allows us to invest in our students’ passions and education in the automotive industry. Registration begins at 8 a.m. Saturday, May 4, at 2508 Blichmann Ave. For more information or inquiries, please contact Mike Carsten or Paul Hoerr.
