Frankenmuth’s Caden Summerfield and Tanner Krueger posted back-to-back shutout wins to keep the Eagles atop the Tri-Valley Conference baseball rankings.
Frankenmuth defeated Essexville Garber 4-0, 6-0 on Tuesday, improving the Eagles to 7-0 in TVC and 13-3 overall.
Summerfield won the opening game with one hit, no walks, and eight strikeouts. Jay Shorbrook led the offense with a double, a run, an RBI, and a walk.
In the second game, Krueger had a two-hit shutout, three walks, and eight strikeouts. Shorbrook and Hunter Bernthal led the offense with two hits each.

Swan Valley 16-11, Birch Run 6-1: John Mayette won the first game against Birch Run, recording three hits, four runs scored, and three runs scored. Meite also earned the win with seven strikeouts in three innings. For the Vikings, Chas Malakos had four hits and two RBIs, and Brady Stevens added two hits and three RBIs. In Game 2, Colton Cline and Jackson Hartley pitched no-hitters, with Cline allowing no hits and two walks in five innings. Hartley also led Swan Valley’s offense with three hits and three runs scored, while Jamison Pelt and Klein each added two hits and two runs scored.
Freeland 7-9, Bay City John Glenn 1-1: Daniel Dury allowed one run on two hits and had six strikeouts to lead Freeland to the Game 1 victory. Jake Metiba, Duley and Connor Lasheski each had two hits to lead Freeland’s attack, with Metiba scoring two runs. In the second game, Freeland improved to 7-1 in TVC thanks to two hits by Carter McLaren. Tucker Heilman, Caden Gersseny, Liam Lamp and Dury each had two hits on Freeland’s offensive line. Heilman, Colin Dee and Lashesky each had two RBIs.
Midland High 3-5, Midland Dow 0-6: Midland High School scored three points in the first inning, and Brett Fazio ran the rest for the shutout victory. Faccio allowed four hits and had 12 strikeouts. Midland Dow scored two runs in the seventh inning and won the second game. Eli Kell and Eli Clever paced the Chemix with two hits each.
Block Creek 12, Nouvelle 2: Elliott Bass won the first game, allowing four hits and striking out six. Kayden Tate and Zane Schwartz each had two hits to lead Brock Creek, with Schwartz scoring four runs. In the second game, Beau Schwartz and Jackson Flowers each had two hits, and Palmer Richards earned the win.
Clare 8-13, Sanford Meridian 4-5: Meridian dropped two Jack Pine Conference games. Reece Teer had two hits and one RBI for Meridian in the opening game. In the second game, AJ Holsinger led the Mustangs with three hits and two RBIs, Tear added two runs and Eli Olmstead added two RBIs.
Millington 10-6, Carrollton 0-2: In the Millington doubleheader, Truck Terbush had five hits and six stolen bases, and Drake Terwilliger added four hits, including five RBIs and a home run. Brandon Dickey won the first game with 6 strikeouts in 4 innings, and Terbush won the second game with 6 scoreless innings and 15 strikeouts.

Swan Valley 4-14, Birch Run 2-6: Swan Valley won the opening game in the third inning with Kelly Stevens leading the offense with three hits and scoring four runs. Grace Gilbert and Violet Boehler each added two hits, and Milagro Perez had five strikeouts in the win. Taylor Belanger and Myra Lasley led the Birch run with two hits each. In the second game, Izzy Coffel led Swan Valley with four hits and four runs scored, while Kenadi Tytla and Shiloh Charbonneau each added two hits. Avery Pagel, Belanger and Lasley led the Birch run with two hits each.
Midland High 3-17, Midland Dow 4-7: Dow took advantage of two errors in the bottom of the seventh inning to add two runs to the Game 1 victory. For Midland, Grace Schroup had nine strikeouts and Hayden Purvis hit his first home run of the season. Morgan Stewart hit two home runs and scored five runs in Dow’s fifth inning nightcap. Schlupp, who earned the win with five strikeouts, also had three hits. For the Chemixes, Callie Cassidy, Addie Edwards and Maggie Frazee each had two hits.
Otisville vs. Lakeville 10-16, Chesaning 1-0: In the first game, Izzy Popilek led Chesaning with three hits, and Marenda Jones added an RBI, a single, a walk and a stolen base. Jones also had a walk and a stolen base in Game 2.
Millington 15-25, Carrollton 0-7: Millington scored 40 points in the sweep, extending his winning streak to eight games. Lelia Damm and Morgan Matusik each had five hits and five RBIs in two games. Kennedy Frahm added four hits and six RBIs, while Damm and Kendall Payne each scored six runs. Matusik and Olivia Jones won.

Midland High School 4, Essexville Garber 2: Midland took a 2-0 lead at halftime with goals from Alana Beckett and Sydney Fulcher, and Ellery Laverty and Paige Freed added two more points to start the second half. Lizzie Striebel had two assists and Jensin Arduin had the other assist. Garver, ranked No. 9 in the state in Division 3, scored the final two goals.
Millington 0, Brock Creek 0: Kendra Peterson made five saves in Millington’s shutout victory.

Chesaning 182, New Lothrop 192: Freshman Luke Scarid led Chesaning with a 40 in the nine-hole match at Briar Ridge Golf Course in Montrose. Josh Lang and Will Pierce followed with 47 points, and Quinton Everett had 48 points for the Indians, who are 3-0 in the Mid-Michigan Activities Conference.
