The Flats – No. 24 Georgia Tech women’s tennis returns to the postseason for its 24th consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament this weekend. The Yellow Jackets will open the tournament against No. 39 Illinois in the first round. The University of Texas will host the first and second rounds.

scene: Georgia Tech will look to qualify for the second round of the NCAA Championship for the 23rd time in program history when it faces Illinois State in the tournament opener on Saturday. The winner of Saturday’s game will face Harvard or host No. 9 University of Texas in the second round on Sunday at 2 p.m. EST.
Scouting technology: The Yellow Jackets are coming off of the ACC Tournament with a heartbreaking win over Clemson in the season opener. Tech has won five of its past seven games heading into this weekend’s tournament. Last year, Tech traveled to Florida in the first two rounds, beating UCF in the first round, but lost to the Gators in the second round.
Illinois Scouts: Despite losing to Wisconsin in the Big Ten Tournament quarterfinals, the Illini enter the weekend having won six of their past nine games. The University of Illinois has earned its second consecutive bid and will be making its 15th appearance in the NCAA Tournament. They won 17 games in the tournament, the 10th most in a single season in program history. The Illini are 4-14 entering the NCAA Tournament. Tech has a 2-0 record against the University of Illinois.
