NEW DELHI: The Aam Aadmi Party on Saturday released a list of 40 star campaigners for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls in Delhi and Haryana, including party convener and in judicial custody. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his wife Sunita Kejriwal were named.
The list of star AAP campaigners also included the names of jailed AAP leaders Manish Sisodia and Satyendar Jain and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.
Sunita Kejriwal has already taken charge of the party’s poll operations, attending roadshows in Delhi and Gujarat to support the party’s Lok Sabha candidates.
Recently, she attended roadshows along with AAP candidates in East Delhi, West Delhi, Bharuch and Bhavnagar constituencies in Gujarat. She will attend a roadshow in support of Sahi Ram Pehalwan AAP candidate for south Delhi seat on Sunday, party leaders said.
She also held roadshows in Punjab and Haryana under her party’s campaign ‘Jail Ka Jawab Vote Se’ centered around the arrest of the Delhi Chief Minister in a money laundering case on March 21. It is expected to be. The CM is currently in Tihar Jail in connection with the incident.
Other star AAP activists heading to the polls include Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh and Raghav Chadha, who is currently abroad for eye treatment.
Rajya Sabha MP and National General Secretary Organization Sandeep Pathak and all Delhi government ministers including Atishi, Saurabh Bharadwaj, Gopal Rai and Kailash Gahlot were among the star campaigners.
Prominent party leaders and ministers from AAP-ruled Punjab were also included in the list of star campaigners.
AAP is contesting four of the seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi and its candidates have filed nominations. The party is contesting Kurukshetra seat in Haryana and Bharuch and Bhavnagar seats in Gujarat.
Despite having an alliance with the Congress in Delhi, Haryana and Gujarat, AAP is contesting all assembly seats in Punjab on its own.
