NEW DELHI: External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Saturday dismissed former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan’s accusation that India is committing murder in its own country.

In a column published in a British daily, the jailed Pakistani politician said: “India has already admitted to carrying out assassinations in Pakistan and the border with Afghanistan remains unstable.” insisted.

Jaishankar, responding to Khan’s article, said that Pakistan has a large number of individuals involved in terrorist and criminal activities. He said there were reports that some people with terrorism-related backgrounds had died under unusual circumstances, a matter that Pakistan needed to investigate.

“What’s happening in Pakistan is that there’s no shortage of people involved in terrorist and criminal activities. Now, as far as we can see, some of the people involved in terrorism have died in quite unusual circumstances. There are reports that there are people. That’s what they need to look into,” he said in Bhubaneswar.

Expanding

The minister stressed that Pakistan must first address the question of why it has so many terrorists within its borders and why it protects them so much.

“First they need to answer why there are so many terrorists in Pakistan. Terrorists are not very nice people. They could be doing something to each other. I don’t know about the article at all. But rather than say why these people are dying, I would first ask why there are so many terrorists in Pakistan. That is the question that needs to be answered.
