PHOENIX, Ore. – Local businesses in Phoenix celebrated a milestone by celebrating the community. Bee Sweet Blooms hosted his 3rd anniversary block party for Phoenix residents.

Co-owners Veronica Silva and Deanna Murasky felt it was only right to share this day with the town and its small businesses. They credit Bee Sweet Blooms with helping him reach his three-year goal.

“What’s been incredible from the beginning is the effort and community organizing to keep families and people here,” Silva said.

Next door, Kohi Lu Cafe and Oregon Cheese Cave also opened their doors to the community. Silva and Mulakshi, both Phoenix locals, said it’s great to see local businesses stay in Phoenix after dealing with the 2020 Almeda Fire.

“We’re here on our own business, and Melody next door, she’s been here through it all,” Murasky said. “It’s really inspiring to see people who come from here stay here, because it’s just as natural that they want to move.”

Bee Sweet Blooms has changed its logo to a sunflower and daffodil symbol to represent the community. Silva said someone placed sunflowers along roads in Phoenix after the Almeda fire.

“We felt like Dahlia was a better representation of the situation we’re in right now, but we wanted to honor the history of fire,” Silva said.
