Arizona Sen. Mark Kelly on Friday condemned Arizona Republican Senate candidate Kari Lake’s recent violent comments, saying on NBC News’ “Meet the Press” that Lake’s comments made people ” “They could injure or kill them,” he said.

Asked about comments made by Lake at a campaign event last month, first reported by NBC, Kelly, a Democrat, said: “They’re going to come after us with legal means, they’re going to come after us with everything. That’s why the next six months are going to be tough. And what do we have to do?”

She added, “We’re going to buckle up. We’re going to put on our helmets or Kali Lake ball caps. We’re going to put on the armor of God. And just in case, we’re going to strap on our Glocks.” It might be a good idea to keep it on your side.”

“When you’re a candidate for the United States Senate, you have to be careful with your words. We’ve seen this throughout history.
