Noelia Voigt will relinquish the title of Miss USA in 2023.
Months after becoming the first Venezuelan-American woman to win the Miss USA pageant on September 29, Vogt shared a heartfelt message on her Instagram on Monday, dedicating herself to her mental health. He announced his decision to return the title.
“In life, I strongly believe in the importance of making decisions that are best for yourself and your mental health.As individuals, we grow by going through different things in life. My journey as Miss USA was incredibly meaningful and I proudly represented Utah and then America at Miss Universe. “I have made the decision to decline the title of Miss USA in 2023,” she wrote, adding, “I know this may come as a huge shock to many. Don’t put your personal and mental health at risk.”
Vogt was born in Florida to an American and Venezuelan couple. The 22-year-old is a licensed esthetician and certified eyelash technician. Prior to Miss USA, Vogt won Miss Teen Florida in 2018 and Miss Alabama University of America in 2020. She also competed in four more pageants before running for Miss Utah.
“Consistent and consistent hard work and dedication have gotten me to where I am today. And competing in pageants and sharing my journey with you all for the past seven years has made my dreams come true. I hope it inspires you to never give up, whatever it is,” Vogt wrote.

Since winning the title, Vogt has collaborated with Smile Train and become an advocate for anti-bullying and immigrant rights. In her announcement, she expressed her gratitude to her fans and supporters.
“I would like to thank my fans, old and new, my family, friends, coaches, former state and local coaches, and my beloved Miss Teen USA, Uma Sophia, for their love and support. “The lifelong friendships and connections I have had the opportunity to form while competing in pageants, Miss USA, and Miss Universe are priceless and precious to me and I will forever be grateful for,” Vogt wrote.
Voigt received the crown from North Carolina’s Miss USA 2022 Morgan Romano, who accepted the title after R’Bonnie Gabriel won the Miss Universe 2023 title. According to the regulations, the Miss USA 2023 crown will now be awarded to the first runner-up, Miss USA. Alexis Lumans from Wisconsin, USA.
“Noelia, thank you for serving as Miss USA. We wish you all the best in your next chapter. We respect and support Noelia’s decision to step down from her duties as our title holder. We understand that her well-being is a top priority and that she needs to prioritize herself at this time. We are currently considering a plan for handing over responsibilities to her successor. “We will soon announce the new Miss USA crown,” the Miss USA organization shared on its official Instagram account.
2023 will be the first Miss USA pageant hosted by JKN Global Group, owned by Thai transgender entrepreneur Ang Jakrajtatip, which acquired the Miss Universe Organization in 2022. Leila Rose was named president and CEO of Miss USA and Miss Teen USA in August. .
MUO underwent an overhaul that included expansion into apparel, beauty, and other merchandise sales. Last November, the organization released its first swimwear collection, “Miss Universe by Rubin Singer.” The line featured bikinis, one-pieces, plus sizes, and modest silhouettes. An expansion of the apparel collection, including shirts and hoodies, has been announced throughout 2024. The organization said it also plans to release a branded skin care line.
