Pearl City High School senior earns business certificate from Leeward CC

Leeward Community College offered Pearl City High School students the opportunity to take college classes leading to a business certificate. 15 students enrolled in Pearl City High School’s International Business and Design Academy (IBAD) and provided a cohort to graduate with career and technical education (CTE) Certificate of Honor and Certificate of Management Achievement were awarded this spring.

“This program was life-changing for me. Participating in this program allowed me to go beyond my comfort zone and challenged myself to explore new ideas and experiences… It gave me the confidence to look for growth opportunities,” said student Jordyn Shibata. “Not only have I gained valuable knowledge, but I feel more confident and capable as an individual and ready to take on any challenges in the future.”

This program was supported by Hawaii P–20 and a grant from the Stupski Foundation.
