The Indiana Tech baseball team continued its winning streak, extending its winning streak to 11 games with two wins over Madonna University on Monday afternoon and winning its first Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference title since 2019. FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) — The Indiana Tech baseball team continues its winning streak, extending its winning streak to 11 games with a two-game win over Madonna University on Monday afternoon and claiming its first Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference title since 2019. obtained. The Warriors won the game. He hit a dramatic walk-off home run in the bottom of the 11th inning, 5-4. Game 2 was easy for Tech, winning 10-3.

In Game 1, a best-of-three game, the Crusaders struck first in the top of the second inning and took an early lead. Jack Ferguson’s base-clearing double in the third inning gave the Warriors a 3-1 lead, and it didn’t take long for the Orange and Black to respond. The Warriors’ offense stagnated over the next few innings, but they held the lead despite Madonna scoring in the fifth inning to close the gap. The Crusaders finally regained the lead from Tech with two runs in the eighth inning, but a clutch base hit by Eli McDonald in the bottom of the ninth sent the game into overtime. In the bottom of the scoreless 10th inning, Bryce Stults hit another walk-off home run with a ball that went over the right field fence. Cade Robinson pitched 3.1 innings on the mound, giving up no hits and no runs in the win. He walked one of the 11 batters he faced and struck out one.

Tech University rode the momentum from the walk-off win into the second game, opening with three runs in the first inning and establishing some of the lead over Madonna. The Crusaders faced a threat in the bottom of the first inning with one out and the bases loaded, but shortstop Parker Bates’ good defense established a 6-4-3 double play and got them out of trouble. The pitchers struggled until the next four innings, and neither team allowed a run until Tristan Osika scored on a single by Bryce Stoltz in the top of the sixth inning. In the bottom of the sixth inning, a two-run long ball from Pablo Revollar cut the Warriors’ lead in half to 4-2. In the seventh inning, the Crusaders gave up two runs and two walks to the Orange and Black. Eli McDonald gave the Warriors a 9-2 lead in the top of the 8th inning with a base-clearing triple to the wall in left-center field, then scored on a passed ball to make it 10-2. The Crusaders got one run back in the ninth inning, but it wasn’t enough as Tech won the WHAC tournament title for the first time since 2019. Zach Zaborowski pitched seven innings on the mound, allowing seven hits and picking up the win. And two runs. Out of the 29 batters he faced, he walked one and struck out 10.
