Shekhar Suman enters politics. The Heera Mandi actor visited New Delhi on Tuesday and joined the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP). This comes at a time when voting for the Lok Sabha elections has already begun in the country. However, it remains unclear whether Suman will contest elections in the future.

Shekhar Suman is currently enjoying success with his recently released web series ‘Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar’. Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s show premiered on Netflix earlier this month and stars Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Richa Chadha, Sanjeeda Sheikh, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sharmin Segal Mehta, Farida Jalal, Farida Deen Khan and Adhyayan Suman also appear in important roles. It explores various aspects of women’s trials and tribulations.

Shekhar Suman’s oral sex scene in the show also became a hot topic. The 61-year-old actor also recently opened up about the incident, telling Zoom Entertainment that it wasn’t originally part of the script. He said that when Bhansali spoke about it for the first time on the sets, everyone was shocked.

“I memorized my lines and came prepared. Right before the scene started, he called me over and said, ‘I’ve come up with a strange interpretation of this, can you accept it?’ And he completely flipped it. That was something no one had thought of and the AD was like this (Shekhar imitated a stunned look),” said Shekhar Suman.

The actor admitted that he agreed to do the scene even though he found it “weird” at first. “Bhansali turned to the Nawab and wanted him to give him a blowjob in the air thinking that Malikajaan was sitting on that side. And he was convinced. It was a strange interpretation and something no one had ever done before. He said, “If you think it’s too weird, you can say no,” she added.

Shekhar Suman said he performed the scene in one take and everyone on set was impressed. He revealed that after the scene was over, Bhansali came running up to him and called it “amazing.”
