HYDERABAD: Muslim organizations such as Jamiat Ulema Hind, United Muslim Forum and Tariq Muslim Shaban have pledged support to the Congress and AIMIM in Telangana. Community leaders appealed to all citizens, irrespective of their faith or non-belief, to go to the polls and vote in order to defeat the Bharatiya Janata Party. Maulana Kareemuddin of Jamiat Ulema Hind said the vote for BRS would be a waste and there was a need to elect a parliamentary candidate now. If the Bharatiya Janata Party comes to power, it will abolish reservations and amend the constitution. “Congress is a secular party, so please vote to win the parliamentary elections,” he said. Unity Forum Muslim appealed to the people to defeat the communists by voting in favor of AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi in the Hyderabad constituency and Congress candidates for the remaining 16 seats in Telangana. Tariq Muslim Shaban, led by Mushtaq Malik, extended its support to the parliament and submitted a 13-point charter for implementation.
