Videos shared on social media show chaos erupting near a pro-Palestinian demonstration at the University of Washington (UW) in Seattle when a conservative reporter clashed with demonstrators.

The altercation occurred on campus Tuesday during an event scheduled to feature Turning Point USA founder and president Charlie Kirk. Kirk, whose organization has chapters at more than 2,000 universities across the country, was at the University of California for a Q&A session and speech when a bloody brawl involving one of his reporters broke out.

A video shared on It’s reflected.

At the time of publication, it was unclear how the brawl escalated or who started the violence.

Kirk told X-Post that Turning Point’s Frontlines reporter Jonathan Cho and a security guard were “attacked” by a masked group. Choi, wearing a turquoise jacket, is seen on the footage trying to run away from the scuffle.

“Our @TPUSA Frontlines reporter Jonathan Cho and his security guard were just attacked by Antifa thugs while reporting near an encampment in Wisconsin,” Kirk wrote on X. Ta. “His security guard was hit multiple times and was bloodied before he and Cho fled. Police are on the scene…”

Victor Barta, a spokesperson for the University of Vienna, said: newsweek The email said the scuffle was under investigation.

“Wisconsin State Police are busy keeping TPUSA events and other areas of campus as safe as possible,” Barta said. “We take all assaults seriously, and UWPD will investigate these incidents and collect any available statements and video footage.”

In a post on X, Choi blamed university leaders and Washington state Democratic Gov. Jay Inslee for the incident.

“The neighborhood is gone,” Cho wrote in one post. “A huge battle royale on the UW Quad on Tuesday afternoon. An Antifa mob and my boyfriend tried to corner me and my crew. They always picked the thinnest guy or the fattest activist. Send it in my direction. Thank you @schwaarzy for filming this. We have filed multiple police reports. Why are @UW leaders with our students? Will camping be allowed?

In another post, Choi called those in the altercation “Antifa extremists” and called for university officials and the governor to “clear out” encampments set up on college campuses as part of a nationwide pro-Palestinian movement. ”I called on them to do so.

“What a hell of a zoo! How long are Governor Inslee and the leaders in Vienna going to leave this Hamas encampment alone? Antifa militants are infiltrating it,” Cho wrote. “Same losers who destroyed Seattle with the 2020 BLM riots! Clean up now! @UW @GovInslee.”

The altercation broke out near an encampment at the University of Washington as part of dozens of pro-Palestinian demonstrations that spread across US campuses. The protester set up a “Gaza Solidarity Encampment” at Columbia University in New York City. Since then, hundreds of protesters have been arrested at university encampments across the country. Protesters have called for a permanent ceasefire to end the Israel-Hamas war and demanded that higher education institutions divest from businesses that support Israel.
