WASHINGTON, May 08 (APP): Pakistan will continue to provide all possible facilities to the Sikh community across the world who wish to visit religious places in the country, Ambassador Masood Khan said on Tuesday.
According to a press release from the embassy, the Pakistan envoy was speaking to a delegation from the American Punjabi Association who visited him.
Ambassador Masood Khan said the government and people of Pakistan fully understand the religious sentiments of the Sikh community and “our doors are open” to them.
Gary Sikka, president of the Punjabi Language Association of America, told the ambassador that the association is made up of 100,000 Punjabi Sikh members, some of whom are from Pakistan; He said a delegation will soon visit Pakistan. Religious places in Lahore, Faisalabad, Islamabad and Kartarpur.
Members of the delegation referred to their previous visits, especially the pilgrimage to Kartarpur, and said the hospitality of the Pakistani people was heart-warming.
While welcoming the delegation at the embassy, Ambassador Masood Khan said that the government and people of Pakistan respect the religious sentiments of the Sikh community and that the visa policy on religious tourism is aimed at providing maximum accommodation. He added that it has been simplified.
