Maj. Gen. Clay Hutmacher joins Reach Government Advisory Council

Redwood City, California, May 8, 2024–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Reach Power (Reach), the leader in wireless Power-at-a-Distance, today announced the formation of a Government Advisory Board. This newly formed board will be focused on guiding Reach’s growth in the public sector and will be led by Maj. Gen. Clayton M. Huttmacher (ret.). The board will be comprised of a senior group of former military and government executives and will provide strategic guidance and direction on how Reach can best meet the federal government’s growing operational energy needs. The announcement will be made during Special Operations Forces (SOF) Week, May 6-10, 2024 in Tampa, Florida, where Reach will demonstrate its wireless power technology in a series of live demonstrations.

Reach builds wireless power beam systems that enable persistent drones, robotics, and sensors. The company’s wireless power transfer technology (WPT) uses radio frequency (RF) energy to power and power a variety of electronic devices, from small unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS) to ground robots and hard-to-reach sensors. Maj. Gen. Clayton M. Hutmacher (retired) has a distinguished military career spanning more than 40 years. As an Army Special Operations Airman, he commanded at all levels during his three tours with the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment. His leadership experience includes positions as Regimental Commander, Commander, U.S. Army Special Operations Air Command, and Director of Operations, U.S. Special Operations Command, Tampa, Florida. After retiring in 2018, Maj. Gen. Hutmacher became president and CEO of the Special Operations Warrior Foundation.

A native of Wenatchee, Washington, Rear Admiral Hutmacher earned a bachelor’s degree in aerospace management from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, a master’s degree in national security and strategic studies from the U.S. Naval Command and Staff College, and a master’s degree in strategic studies. He graduated from the United States Military War College.
