SALT LAKE CITY — Days after Miss USA 2023 and former Utah state representative Noelia Vogt He suddenly announced his resignation with a cryptic message. Other Miss USA 2023 state title holders are also speaking out.
In a joint statement released Wednesday, “the majority of the members of the Miss USA Class of 2023” called on the Miss USA organization to lift the confidentiality NDA clause in its contract with Vogt.
“This is to allow her to speak freely about her experience as Miss USA and what happened there,” the joint statement reads in part.
Additionally, the titleholders expressed support for Vogt’s decision to step down, saying, “Prioritizing her mental health is paramount and we stand with her.”
The joint statement came just days after Vogt released a statement saying she was stepping down from her role as Miss USA, citing mental health reasons.
After posting her statement, social media users were quick to point out that the first letters of each sentence in Vogt’s statement spelled out the phrase “I remain silent.”
Crisis manager Dennis White said he was consulting with Voight and others within the organization and acknowledged there was a hidden message in the statement.
“The goal is to restore voice to Noelia,” a joint statement from the state title holders reads in part. “We demand full transparency from contestants in 2024 and beyond.”
State rights holders issued a statement demanding a response from the group “within 24 hours.”
On Wednesday, Miss Teen USA 2023, Umasophia Srivastava from New Jersey, also announced she would be resigning from her position.
“After careful consideration, my personal values are no longer fully aligned with the direction of the organization, and I have decided to resign,” her statement reads in part.
Vogt showed his support in a comment in his resignation statement, saying, “I love you! I’m so proud of you, my angel.”
