MUMBAI: In his final statement in the 2008 Malegaon blast case trial before the NIA special court, accused Lt. Col. Prasad Purohit accused the police of what he called a “trumped up, orchestrated and fabricated” investigation. All of the police officers who did so at the behest of the police said they all did so at the behest of the police. Mr. Hemant Karkare (then ATS Director General), Mr. Param Bir Singh (then ATS Co-Chairman) and Mr. Mohan Kulkarni (then ACP-ATS and Investigating Officer) were appointed by senior officials to meet the political demands of the government. What happened that day at the Center and the states that were part of the plot hatched.
When Purohit was arrested in 2008, Congress-led governments were in power at the Center and in the state. According to him, the term “Hindu terrorism” was coined in August 2008 when the president of a political party made a comment about the existence of Hindu terrorists. Shortly after this coin was issued, the explosion on September 29th occurred. The statement said these officers fabricated and fabricated evidence and were involved in the extrajudicial killings of wanted Ramchandra Kalsangula and Sandeep Dhanji and witnesses.
Purohit said the entire case against him was a “concocted lie” as the witnesses turned hostile and exposed the fact that they were tortured to extract testimonies as requested by the ATS and its political leaders. ‘It is clear that this is the case.’ He said the officers had violated national security, undermined the morale of intelligence officers and permanently damaged the Army’s reputation.
Mr. Purohit, during his time as an intelligence officer, Dawood Ibrahim, a “fugitive terrorist suspect and ISI agent”, Dr. Ganapati, who is described as a fugitive from the CPI (Maoist), and Dr. Ganapati, who is currently described as a fugitive. It said it had initiated a report on illegal funding to Zakir Naik and his organization.
“This meeting is aimed at streamlining the supply of arms, ammunition, war-like warehouses and narcotics from Pakistan’s ISI to left-wing extremists and Naxalites, especially the Dandakaranya Special Committee operating across the Indian peninsula. “Especially after these supplies stopped coming from India to Nepal,” Purohit said, adding that he was treated worse than a prisoner of war. Purohit said Karkare and Singh should acknowledge their “roles” and name the RSS and VHP workers, as well as Yogi Adityanath, then an MP from Gorakhpur in UP. Stated.
He claimed that he was asked to leave a place on November 3, 2008, but ATS officials secretly asked him not to do so, as they had orders to kill him the moment he stepped outside the premises. He said that the RDX tree planting took place on the same day at the house of co-accused Sudhakar Chaturvedi. He said he was subjected to “brutal” torture after being taken into the city and hanging with ropes tied around his wrists.
Mr. Purohit said that both the ATS and the NIA, the first and second agencies investigating the case, reaffirmed that his actions were in the line of duty and that his superiors were always informed. He claimed that he did not examine the relevant documents. Rather, he said, the investigation was limited to meet his ulterior motive of implicating him in the destruction of intelligence agencies operating in the Southern military.
Purohit claimed that Pakistan has left no opportunity to equate the army, which he described as the most elite in the world, with its own rogue army. He said that Pakistan’s President Parvez Musharraf continued to seek his custody in the Samjhauta Express bombing case thanks to the ATS, which allegedly claimed that the explosives were provided by President Musharraf.
