Makeup artist Mallory Oseth creates super easy-to-follow and realistic tutorials on TikTok and Instagram. Oseth, who is described by her followers as having a “good vibe”, also welcomes suggestions from fans on social media about what makeup looks she should try. Enter the “chin blush” trend in the chat.
“You guys said as a long-faced person, I should put blush on my chin,” she recently shared in a video. “But…I tried it yesterday and by the end of the day it looked like I didn’t have foundation on my chin.”
Osses then decided to “give another try” to the vibrant Bobbi Brown Calypso Coral ($36) powder blush. “You just apply a little bit to the pointiest parts of your nose and chin,” she demonstrated. “I think it looks so much more unified! And it makes my chin look a lot shorter, so that’s a good thing. Let’s see how it goes at the end of the day!”

“I think a matte bronzer or contour would be a better option,” one follower suggested in the comments. “I have pretty much the same face shape and that works for me. I also have rosacea, so I’m not looking to add any more redness to my face.”
As Osses said, the chin blushing may be simple, but it ended up making her a fan. She also thinks it’s closely related to her blush, a “sporty” and youthful makeup trend similar to blush.
“Chin blush brings balance and unity to your face!” says Osses. “Adding color not only to your cheeks, but also to your chin and forehead will give you a balanced, sun-kissed look.”
Plus, she says, it really seemed to benefit her face shape.
“I love chin blush, especially for rectangular and oval faces where the chin is long and prominent. It softens and fills in the blank space that often draws attention to the chin.”
