The star full-back injured his hamstring while trying to deny Jack Bostock what would have been the winning try. In 2022, Trbojevic was excluded from Origin. dislocated shoulder. Then last year he suffered a season-ending injury in the second Origin game when he tore his pectoral muscle.
The hamstring injury occurred after Trbojevic had been rested with an ankle problem, but was able to continue playing after being treated by Manly trainers. Compounding Manly’s injury problems, winger Jason Saab also left the pitch in the 16th minute with a shoulder injury and did not return.
“Jason needs a scan, but we’re told he’s grade 3,” Siebold said. “We lost those two guys (Trbojevic and Saab) for a while.”

The Sea Eagles dominated the first 30 minutes, but at the end of the first half the Dolphins scored three quick tries in five minutes and went into the half-time break with a narrow lead. Manly managed to regain the lead early in the second half with Trbojevic brothers Jake and Tom linking up close to the line and the full-back falling over to score his first try of the night.
From there, the Dolphins tied the score with a penalty goal, and Bostock scored the winning goal with less than 15 minutes left. Without Trbojevic, the Sea Eagles were behind on the scoreboard and could do little to threaten the Dolphins in the second half, ultimately trailing by six points.
