ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday received a message from the Prime Minister of Qatar highlighting potential steps to strengthen bilateral relations.
“Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, has sent a written message to Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on bilateral relations and ways to support and develop them.” reported Qatar News Agency. QNA report.
This message was conveyed to Prime Minister Sharif by the visiting Qatari Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al Khraifi, accompanied by a delegation from the Qatar Investment Authority.
Prime Minister Sharif said he hoped the Qatari government would expand its investment portfolio in Pakistan in priority areas and offer facilitation through the Special Investment Facilitation Council.
Receive messages from the other country towards improving bilateral relations
Dr. Al-Khraifi also called Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during the meeting, the two countries reviewed Pakistan-Qatar bilateral relations and trade and investment ties, with particular focus on cooperation in areas such as energy, mining and aviation.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the government is resolute in enforcing the law and ensuring those responsible for the May 9, 2023 unrest are held accountable.

A day earlier, the US State Department stressed the importance of ensuring the safety and security of all detainees, including former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
In response to US concerns regarding detainees, Baloch asserted that Pakistan’s judicial system is fully capable of taking decisions in accordance with the country’s laws and constitution, and that due process and justice are fundamental to the legal framework. He emphasized that this is a key element.
“When it comes to Pakistan’s domestic laws, we don’t need any direction from anyone,” she said.
