Congress veteran Mani Shankar Aiyar caused a stir with his comments on Pakistan, triggering a fierce attack by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Aiyar said India should have a respectful diplomatic dialogue with Pakistan as it has an atomic bomb.

In an interview with Chill Pir, Mani Shankar Aiyar said, “They are also a sovereign country (Pakistan). It’s like you’re carrying a gun.” It hasn’t brought you anything, but tensions are rising, and what will happen to the country if a crazy person comes there?

“They have an atomic bomb. We have an atomic bomb. But if a madman detonates a bomb at Lahore railway station, within eight, eight seconds, that radiation will reach Amritsar. ” he added.

Mani Shankar Aiyar said Pakistan could use the atomic bomb.

“So the use of the atomic bomb should be prevented. But if you start a dialogue with them (Pakistan) and encourage them (to think that way), they will start thinking about the atomic bomb. But you If they ignore them, some crazy person will come and detonate a bomb. So what will happen?”

Mani Shankar Aiyar has made a veiled attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying there has been no effort to reach out to Pakistan in the last 10 years.

“We need to understand that in order to become a ‘Vishwaguru’ (world leader), it is important to show that we are working quickly towards resolving (all bilateral issues) with Pakistan. “There has been no effort (on the part of the government) to reach out (to Pakistan) in the last 10 years,” he added.

Blaming the Congress for Aiyar’s remarks, Union Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party leader Rajiv Chandrasekhar said his remarks reflected the ideology of the grand old party.

In this election, “Rahul’s Congress ideology” is on full display. Support with Pakistan, including the proposal to abandon Siachen, support with domestic terrorist organizations and people such as SDPI and Yasin Malik. Rampant corruption and plundering of the poor. Racism, divisiveness, and the ignorance of Sam Pitroda. Appeasing the Muslim community at the expense of everyone else including SCs, OBCs and STs who have been denied progress for decades. Memorandum of Understanding and Alliance with the Communist Party of China. Lies, abuse, and false assurances to divide people and mislead the poor and vulnerable. Today’s episode of Congress features Manishankar Iyer,” he posted on X.

Immediately after Mani Shankar Aiyar’s comments created a political stir, the Congress Party distanced itself from its comments on Pakistan.

INC said in a statement, “The Indian National Congress is in complete departure from some of Mani Shankar Aiyar’s statements made a few months ago, which were revived today by the Bharatiya Janata Party to divert attention from Prime Minister Modi’s daily newspaper. I completely disagree,” he said. Just kidding. Mr Iyer does not represent the party in any capacity. ”

“The Indian National Congress, and indeed the entire nation, remembers with pride that it was thanks to the resolute leadership of Indira Gandhi and the courage of our armed forces that Pakistan collapsed in December 1971 and an independent Bangladesh emerged. .”
