Lok Sabha Elections 2024 Live Updates: Friday is the penultimate day of campaigning for the fourth leg of the ongoing seven-phase Sabah state election. The fourth round of voting will take place on May 13th, with campaigning ending two days before election day.
In the next phase, voting will be held in as many as 96 constituencies across 10 states and union territories: Andhra Pradesh (25 seats in total), Telangana (17 seats in total), Uttar Pradesh ( 13/80 seats), Maharashtra (11/48 seats), West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh (8/42, 8/29), Bihar (5/40), Orissa and Jharkhand (4/21, 4/14), Jammu and Kashmir (1/5). A total of 1,717 candidates will be in the fray for these states and UTs.
Also on Friday, leaders of the Congress-led opposition India Bloc criticized the “unprecedented delay” in polling bodies releasing final turnout data for each of the first two rounds of voting. He is scheduled to meet with the Election Commission. Both parties are also likely to demand that turnout data for the remaining districts be released “immediately.”
