Since the beginning of May, there have been four robberies or attempted robberies at marijuana dispensaries in Commerce City.

COMMERCE CITY, Colo. — Commerce City Police have responded to four robberies or attempted robberies at marijuana shops since the beginning of this month.

A vehicle used in at least one crime was recovered, the agency said in a Facebook post. They are looking for another vehicle that broke into a business overnight Wednesday through Thursday in the 5400 block of Quebec Street.

The business was hit twice. For the first time, the robbers were unable to break through the door. The second time, he used a KIA without plates to crash through the facade of a building, causing thousands of dollars in damage. That was in addition to the products they stole once inside.

Police are searching for the two robbers seen in the video, but believe others may be involved. Commerce police said they are working with other agencies in the metropolitan area to see if similar crimes in their jurisdictions are related.

Aurora police confirmed that four male suspects were involved in two break-ins at a shopping mall on East 6th Street around 3 a.m. Thursday. A ministry spokesperson said they could not confirm that the two were connected, but were investigating because there were some similarities. The spokesperson said there had been a “small number” of incidents in other jurisdictions and they were working with the agency to confirm any links.

Anyone with information about the incident in Commerce City is asked to call the police tip line at 303-289-3626.
