LUBBOCK, Texas — Texas Tech Athletics announced Friday afternoon that Lacey Needham will serve as the department’s new senior associate athletic director and chief financial officer.
Mr. Needham arrives at Hub City with more than 20 years of experience, having led business operations in Southern Georgia (2003-2006), Texas (2009-18) and Arkansas (2018-24). It turns out.
Needham will oversee the athletics department’s budget of more than $115 million and serve as an executive member of Texas Tech’s executive staff, according to a press release.
“I’m honored to join Red Raider Nation and can’t wait to be a part of the great Texas Tech Athletics team supporting the Fearless Champions,” Needham said.
“I cannot thank Kirby Hocutt and the selection committee enough for this opportunity. I look forward to coming to Lubbock soon and starting working with this great staff.”
Needham will begin his duties at Texas Tech University on May 20, taking over the duties previously assigned to Jonathan Botros, who was promoted to acting director of athletics in June of this year.
“We are pleased to welcome Lacey to the Texas Tech family,” said Director of Athletics Kirby Hocutt.
“As we continue to develop our long-term plans for Texas Tech Athletics, it is imperative that we find someone with a strong financial background to complement Jonathan Vostros as he transitions further into the Deputy AD role. At Lacey, we were fortunate to find that experience only strengthened our office operations.”
