Peedika Rajanna Dora, deputy chief minister and YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) candidate from Tharoor assembly constituency in Parvathipuram Manyam district, has been given free rein in his constituency by the Election Commission of India (ECI). It claimed that it failed to ensure a fair vote.
Rajanna Dora, current MLA from Tharoor constituency, spoke to the media on Monday alleging that the ECI has not acted against the wrongdoings of leaders and activists of the TDP-JSP-BJP combine.
He faulted that the YSRCP symbol was not clearly visible on some electronic voting machines. “There is no adequate security in some sensitive places where TDP has spread fear among YSRCP cadres. In the absence of any monitoring of blatant violations, TDP even distributed money on polling day. We raised several issues before the returning officer but there was no response,” Rajanna Dola said.
