Epiphone USA Coronet model has been announced. This is a reproduction of the original model and is available in two finishes. But is it worth the asking price in 2024?
Epiphone USA Coronet
these new Epiphone USA Coronet The model is based on the model first released in 1958. These new modern reproductions are vintage cherry and ebony Glossy nitrocellulose lacquer finish. they have unique characteristics.bikini headstock badgefeatures a symmetrical double-cutaway mahogany body shape and pickguard shape from the 1958-1959 guitars.

Vintage and modern updates
The specifications are faithful to the original model, and it comes with a mahogany body and matching mahogany neck. However, the latest updates include slim tapered neck profile and Wider 1.695 inch nut width. Also, the body depth is slightly slimmer at 1.375 inches, but Epiphone says this is for balance and keeping weight down. Other minor updates include: graphtec nut.

P-90
This model features a single P-90 Soapbar pickup with volume and tone controls. The wiring includes orange drop capacitors. The hardware is also minimal, with a set of vintage deluxe tuners with wraparounds and white buttons.

Is it worth the money?
It’s not very affordable, and the specs are basic and not very attractive. Yes, it’s made in the USA and comes with a hard case. It’s been “updated” so it’s not vintage accurate, but whether that’s good or bad depends on your opinion. Don’t worry, it’s been updated for modern players, including a new neck shape and wider nut.
Epiphone also says it has been used by players such as Jimi Hendrix, Steve Marriott, Johnny Marr, and Marshall Crenshaw. This is trying to immerse guitarists in the history of original guitars, but these are not originals.
It’s hard to say these are good value for money, as many high-spec guitars are available for much less. However, if you’re a Coronet fan, it’s been a long time since we’ve seen a model made in the USA. I just think this buyer base is very small and most guitarists will look elsewhere for a single P-90 pickup guitar for the money.
