The BJP government in Haryana is holding a plenary session as the opposition Congress and Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) claim that the government lost its mandate and became a minority government after three independent MLAs withdrew their support last week. are planning.

Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini convened a cabinet meeting at 11 am on Wednesday. It is likely that a decision will be made at this meeting whether to seek the governor’s consent to call a special session of the state Legislature.

Interestingly, the Saini government passed the floor test on March 12, just two months ago. Technically, the floor test cannot take place until September, but the governor has discretion to ask the government to prove a majority if the House is out of session. vests in him under Article 163(1) of the Constitution of India.

Sources close to the government said a special session of parliament could be convened after the Lok Sabha election results. Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini is also contesting from Karnal Assembly constituency.

Meanwhile, Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya has left Telangana and is scheduled to return to Chandigarh on Wednesday.

Interestingly, the letter was submitted by three independent MPs Randhir Golan, Dharmpal Gondal and Somvir Sangwan, which sources said was sent using their official email IDs. However, the governor’s office has not yet taken any action. The letter is under verification as the MLA is not using his ID.

He also clarified that so far there is no confirmation that any MLA has withdrawn support from the Bharatiya Janata Party government. The Governor’s Office may request her MLA to appear before the Governor in person or to communicate using her registered email ID.

It is worth mentioning that three independent MLAs announced on May 7th, in the presence of former Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and state Congress president Uday Bhan, that they would withdraw support from the Bharatiya Janata Party. This is what was announced.

JJP may pay a price for supporting Congress. The opposition Congress and JJP claim that the Bharatiya Janata Party government has become a minority government after independent MLAs withdrew their support.

“The Congress delegation has submitted a memorandum claiming that the Bharatiya Janata Party government has only 43 members and is a minority government. There are more MLAs in the Opposition than in the government. We are awaiting directions from the Governor. Congress spokesperson Kiwan Dhingra said. .

The BJP is not sitting idle, with four to six JJP MLAs claiming to be affiliated with the party. Former state chief minister ML Khattar even claimed that some Congress MLAs were also in touch with him.

“Not only this time, when we formed the government in 2019, we had 40 MLAs.The government has the required majority and this was already proven when Nayab Singh Saini became the chief minister. We are ready and willing to prove the numbers if the situation arises,” said Praveen Attely, spokesperson for the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party leaders have asked JJP leader and former deputy chief minister Dushyant Chautala to prove whether all the party’s MLAs are on the same page. Nayab Singh Saini and ML Qatar requested a parade of JJP MLAs.

“JJP MLA Devender Babli has publicly announced his successor in the party leadership. Ram Kumar Gautam had asked Dushyant Chhatra to quit the party. Ishwar Singh, Jogi Ram Mr. Ramniwas Sarju Kheda has appealed for the support of the BJP leadership. Mr. Dushyant Chautala should clarify how he will change the leadership.”Many of the party’s MLAs agree with him. We are together,” Praveen Attely said.

BJP leaders claim that the three independent MLAs who announced their withdrawal of support were seeking the BJP’s parliamentary ticket, but it was not possible.

The BJP’s reaction came after Dushyant Chautala expressed support to the Congress demanding a floor test. He also cracked the whip on JJP MLAs. However, Devender Singh Babli, one of the MLAs, said that he and other MLAs are planning to replace Mr. Dushyant by risking the rights of the party. There were doubts as to whether the government was expressing this to Congress.
