(KTVI) – Pizza Hut has unveiled a new pizza burger concept that offers the best of both worlds. The chain officially introduced the Cheeseburger Melt on Tuesday.

The Cheeseburger Melt has beef, applewood smoked bacon, onions, mozzarella, and cheddar cheese inside a thin Parmesan-flavored crust. Burger sauce is also included on the side.

Unlike traditional hamburgers, cheeseburger melts don’t use a bun. Pizza Hut is banking on giving this new delicacy a crunchy, oozing flavor.

“As a brand known for outstanding pizza, this move into the burger business is an exciting first for us,” Lindsey Morgan, Pizza Hut’s chief marketing officer, said in a news release. “We thought we’d start our burger journey with something bold. That’s why we’re creating a buzz at our burger chain’s drive-thrus, offering all burger lovers a delicious new Cheeseburger Melt.” ”

Each order of the melt includes two slices of Pizza Hut’s signature Thin and Crispy Crust. The melt is also part of a new My Hut Box offer where customers can enjoy a 20-ounce drink with a side of fries or wings and a melt. My Hut Box prices start at $6.99.

There’s also a chance to win a free cheeseburger melt. Pizza Hut says some delivery drivers will place a QR code behind their window and scan it. Those who scan will be entered into a sweepstakes to win a free Cheeseburger His Melt with a 20 oz Pepsi product drink.
