Days after their sudden resignations shocked the pageant world, the mothers of the Miss USA and Miss Teen USA pageant winners spoke out on behalf of their daughters in new interviews on “Good Morning America.” .

“Their dream job turned out to be a nightmare,” Barbara Srivastava, whose daughter Umasofia Srivastava resigned from the role of Miss Teen USA 2023 last week, told “GMA.” “We could not continue this farce and the girls decided to resign. [up] A lifelong dream, a crown, a national title, why did these two girls decide to give it up? ”

The two beauty queens claim extremely ugly working conditions became toxic, but they are both bound by contracts with non-disclosure clauses, so the mothers have not spoken out about their experiences. I’m looking for a platform to release it.

After former Miss USA Noelia Voigt posted on social media about her resignation, fans quickly noticed that the text looked like the words “I remain silent.”

“If this non-disclosure agreement is signed, she will be that way now and for the rest of her life.” [Non-disclosure agreement] “Girls need to talk,” her mother, Jackelyn Vogt, told GMA.

Her daughter, from Sarasota, Florida, slammed Miss USA and its president Leila Rose, saying, “There is a toxic work environment within the Miss USA organization, including poor management at best and bullying and harassment at worst. “There is,” he wrote in part. She added that she was “made to feel unsafe at events without competent leadership, which escalated into sexual harassment.”

Vogt said her daughter received an unwanted advance on the Christmas parade.

“Seeing Noelia made me very stressed.[ed] Outside. And I said, “What happened?” And she said, “Mom, get in the car.” Get in the car. ”When she got in the car, she said, “What happened,” because she knew he was saying something, but she didn’t understand. “He said to Noelia, ‘Is she interested in old men with money?’ which made Noelia very uncomfortable,” her mother detailed to GMA.

Noelia Vogt wrote in a letter that Rose’s response “cannot prevent me from saying anything to you in public” and explained that it inherently comes with the area.

Vogt said her daughter was never told that she was “sorry for what she went through.”

“After she retired, Noelia came back home and it was so beautiful to see her running in the living room with the dogs. I got Noelia back.” Vogt said. “She was very upset. This is not something she has worked hard for.”

“Then the Miss Universe organization needs to come out and talk to us, apologize or clean up this mess,” Voight continued.

“The crown is heavy,” Shrivastava said.

She claims her teenage daughter from New Jersey, who is currently finishing her senior year of high school, was also bullied by management, had her personal social media monitored and controlled, and was denied opportunities.

“Let’s be clear: It’s not about what they didn’t get, it’s not about the prize money. It’s about how they were mistreated, mistreated, bullied and cornered.” said Srivastava.

Since Noelia Vogt resigned, Srivastava said she knew her daughter needed to do the same.

“My personal values are no longer aligned with the direction the organization is taking,” the former Miss Teen USA wrote in a statement on social media.

“When she saw that they were attacking Noelia’s mental health, she [UmaSofia] “I can’t stand this,” I said. I need to stand up to Noelia,” her mother Barbara Srivastava recalled of her alleged catalyst and chain reaction.

“We are committed to fostering a healthy, communicative, and supportive environment for all contestants, state title holders, national title holders, and staff,” the Miss USA organization told ABC News. “There is,” he said.

Leila Rose did not immediately respond to ABC News’ request for comment.

Both mothers have said they want Rose to resign, but until then they share a warning for future contestants.

“Look what happened to Noelia. [and] Uma Sophia,” Jackelyn Vogt said. “Be really careful. We don’t want them to go through this. This is not the right time to participate.”

Asked if she thought young women should stop participating in these types of contests, Vogt said: “Absolutely.”

“We don’t want this family or these girls to go through what we’re going through,” she continued.

The CW, which broadcasts the Miss USA and Miss Teen USA pageants, said it was “evaluating” its relationship with the pageants in light of these resignations and allegations.

Noelia and Uma Sophia have both written books about their experiences of being bullied as children. They said they want to encourage other women to speak out against abuse of all kinds.

The mother of two said the message from all of this goes beyond the pageant world, and that she can set an example for her daughters to stay true to themselves and use their voice, even at the cost. He said he hopes
