HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — The Huntsville Metro area is a melting pot of innovative businesses, large and small. When companies collaborate, the possibilities are endless.
Wednesday morning, dozens of local businesses had the opportunity to network at the Von Braun Center through Huntsville Utilities’ third annual Business Matchmaker event. This was the largest event to date with over 45 companies participating.
Organizers say it’s the perfect environment for small and medium-sized businesses and large companies to collaborate and expand production capacity.
Electronic content manager Todd Long said the goal is to match large companies with small businesses in North Alabama that are owned by local minorities, women and veterans.
“This event allows large businesses and small businesses to come together in the same room and literally shake hands, exchange cards and say, ‘Here’s the information I need,'” Long said.
Everything from transport and environmental services to advertising and insurance agencies was represented.
Jasmine Bruno is the owner of P&J Logistics Solutions. She says this was a great way to build relationships and gain new business opportunities.
“I feel like hosting events like this can help small business owners like me. I run a women-owned business in Huntsville, and I appreciate this kind of networking development. Going every once in a while helps you build relationships with big companies that need what you have to offer for their services,” Bruno said.
There were also presentations during the event to share business skills with local entrepreneurs.
