The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Thursday announced warm-up matches ahead of the T20 World Cup, which begins in June in the United States and the Caribbean.
Coach Rohit Sharma’s Indian team will face Bangladesh in their only practice match ahead of the high-profile tournament on June 1. The match venue has not yet been announced. This match concludes the 16-game series before the tournament.
Meanwhile, Pakistan and England have no warm-up matches and both teams are scheduled to clash in a four-match T20I series this month.
“Unlike previous cycles, each team can now choose to play up to two warm-up matches depending on their arrival time to the event,” the ICC wrote in a press release. “These warm-up matches will be 20 overs for each team and will not have international T20 status, allowing teams to field their entire 15-player squad.”
Among other notable matches, Australia will face co-hosts West Indies in Trinidad and Tobago on May 30, while South Africa will play a red-and-white match in Florida on May 29.
