The “I Danced” trend is going viral after a TikToker was recorded repeating Lil Durk’s lyrics from his 2021 song “In the Bible” with Drake.
A similar “I danced” trend started in 2021 after Drake and Lil Durk released their song “In the Bible,” but this craze evolved even further and was released on TikTok in May 2024. It exploded again.
In this trend, TikTokers stand in a usually silent, crowded room and sing the lyrics of a song over and over again: “I did one dance on TikTok and it went viral.”
It may seem like a dance trend, but it’s also more or less a singing trend, as many TikTokers include their POV: “The moment I realized I could sing.”
The lyrics used reference a viral TikTok of Lil Durk and the late King Von dancing in their music video for “Chiraqimoney.” After the song was released in 2019, their TikTok went viral and continued to trend for years to come.
But TikTok’s “I Did a Dance” trend seems to be going more viral than ever right now, with posters gaining millions of views overnight.
TikToker Clare posted a rendition of this trend that received over 6 million views. “I did one dance on TikTok and it went viral,” she said, repeating herself three times as she tried to dominate the room.
She then stood up and said the lyrics for the fourth time, finally catching the attention of the others and silencing the room with a shock factor.
Sif, another TikToker who posted his take on the trend, has garnered over 11 million views and continues to go viral. He repeated this phrase four times in the video, finishing with complete grace.
“And…the scene,” one viewer joked in the comments. “He silenced the room with his aura,” added another.
While the “I Danced” trend is currently trending on TikTok, another trend involving fellow rappers started in early May of this year.
The trending “BBL Drizzy” started as a joke about Drake and his supposed Brazilian butt lift. In a video from a participating TikToker, Metro Boomin can be seen humorously dancing to a short song he created based on the rumors.
