Voting for the fifth phase of the Lok Sabha elections, which includes 49 constituencies in eight states/UTs, is scheduled for Monday.
According to the Election Commission, 695 candidates are contesting across these constituencies. This number was revealed after scrutinizing his 1,586 nomination forms submitted in the fifth phase. Of those, 749 were deemed valid after the May 3 deadline.
Notably, only 82 of the total 695 candidates contesting in the May 20th stage are women, according to a report by the Democratic Reform Association.

Voting hours for stage 4 voting
Voting begins at 7 a.m. and ends at 6 p.m. According to ECI, the average number of candidates per constituency in the fifth phase is 18.
