Northeast Delhi Assembly candidate Kanhaiya Kumar was slapped by a youth on Friday while campaigning for the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
The video of the incident is going viral on social media.
According to the viral video of the attack on Kanhaiya Kumar, a person’s voice can be heard.Kanhaiya pitne wala hai“(Kanhaiya will be beaten)” Immediately after this, a youth holding a garland in his hand slapped the Congress leader.
According to the complaint, the Congress candidate was found attending a meeting at the AAP office at No. 4 Pushta, Swami Subramanium Bhawan, New Usmanpur.
AAP councilor Chhaya Sharma was presiding over the meeting and when Sharma came down to see Kumar off after the meeting, some people came and placed garlands around Kumar. However, the complaint further states that after presenting him with wreaths, some people threw ink at the parliamentary candidate and tried to assault him.
They also allegedly threatened her when AAP councilors tried to intervene.
Further investigation into this matter is currently underway.
