Muzaffarpur/Siwan (Bihar): Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday said that if the NDA returns to power with over 400 seats, grand temples will be built in Varanasi and Mathura and the state will be unified. He said the Civil Code (UCC) will be enforced.
He said the NDA, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, will ensure that Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK), an integral part of India, returns to the country.
Addressing election rallies in Muzaffarpur and Siwan Lok Sabha seats, Sarma said, “We will implement the UCC and build a temple on the Krishna Janmabhoomi premises in Mathura and the Janvapi Mosque in Varanasi. We will establish a Kashi Vishwanath temple in its place and ensure the return of PoK to India.” After winning over 400 seats. ”
Accusing the Congress and its allies, Sarma said, “Rahul Gandhi and Lalu Prasad did not attend the consecration ceremony of Ram Mandir. They want to send Ram Lalla back to his tent. We must not allow this to happen.”
He termed the Congress and the RJD as the “biggest enemy of OBCs” for their alleged attempts to introduce religion-based reservations in the country.
“Reservation based on religion should be given to Muslims in Pakistan and not in India. Lalu Prasad should go to Pakistan to give reservation to Muslims. NDA will do this at all costs. No. Modiji’s new India does not need madrassas. We need modern schools and universities that produce doctors and engineers, not maulvis of madrassas,” he said.
Sarma asserted that Rahul Gandhi “can never become prime minister” and added: “He can contest elections in Pakistan and become prime minister. He and his party are indulging in politics of appeasement.” he said.
“The corrupt Congress-RJD alliance is trying its best to slow down the development of Bihar…They indulge in realizing their own interests whenever they get an opportunity. The NDA has broken their ties. That’s what we’re trying to do,” he said.
While Raj Bhushan Nishad of the BJP is contesting from Muzaffarpur, Vijay Lakshmi Devi Kushwaha is contesting as an NDA candidate from Siwan.
Voting will be held in Muzaffarpur on May 20 and in Siwan on May 25.
