Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on track to win a third term in power.
“In the last four phases, Modiji has won 270 seats and is heading towards his third century,” Amit Shah said at an election rally in Jhansi. “On the other hand, Rahul Gandhi’s INDI alliance has been destroyed. Mr. Modiji will be the Prime Minister of India for a third term,” he added.
Highlighting Prime Minister Modi’s humble beginnings, Shah said, “On one hand you have Rahul Baba, who was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, and on the other, you have Modi Ji, who was born into a family of poor tea sellers belonging to the backward classes.” Mr Modiji has not taken any leave for the past 23 years and is spending Diwali with soldiers at the border.
He also criticized the opposition’s stance on the Ram temple issue. Shah accused the Samajwadi Party and the Congress of blocking Ram temple construction for decades and praised Modi for fulfilling his promise.
“For 70 years, the Congress, the Samajwadi Party and the Bahujan Samaj Party have been blocking the construction of the Ram temple. But Mr. Modi ji won the case, laid the foundation stone and consecrated the Ram temple.”
Raising the issue of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, the home minister said, “Their (Congress) greed for vote banks is such that one of their leaders, Mani Shankar Aiyar, has told us not to talk about PoK.” “It has increased so much that I asked for it.” He claims that since Pakistan has an atomic bomb, we should not claim our rights over PoK. This is the Narendra Modi government and we want to say we are not afraid of the atomic bomb. PoK belongs to India and we will take it back,” he said.

Shah also criticized political dynasties, saying leaders like Lalu Prasad Yadav, Uddhav Thackeray and Sharad Pawar were more interested in promoting their family members.
“Those who indulge in politics for the benefit of their sons and daughters cannot benefit the youth. Only Narendra Modi ji can brighten the future of the youth of this country.”
